THE RESTMAN

restman-arm-support-mouse-pad-elbow-support-shoulder-relief.jpgThe Restman
I guess just about all of you have some level of discomfort while working on the computer for long periods of time. For me, the pain is in my right shoulder. It begins to ache when mousing and keyboarding. I have tried arm rests and supports but they are too confining for me. One day we received a sample. They called it a Restman. All the gang at the office tried it out most everyone really though it was a great add to our webstore so here is is. It attaches easily to your chair or desk and supports the forearm, wrist, elbow and for me NO SHOULDER PAIN! As you can see in the photo it has a pretty large surface compared to a lot of mouse rests and arm rests that we have put to the test. We have sold over 100 of them and have had only good responses. Most folks thought that the Restman were a great value and were completly satisfied. So that’s good news.
Let us know what you think!

Hi folks. Thanks for this blog site. I never would have found this Restman.
It looks like something that will work for me and my wife.
We are going to order one today. Will report back after we have tried it out for a week or so.

The Restman ! I love the Restman. I left one at my mom’s house when I moved out and have been looking for a new one ever since. Actually, this looks a little nicer than the one I used previously. I have used arm rests in the past. I really don’t like them. My arm likes the freedom of this open design. Thanks folks

Hi. I am interested in the Restman for a computer school. At least to provide it as an option.
Is it good for left handed people? How long does it take to attach? What colors are available?
Is there any certain surface that it needs to attach to? Thank you.

    Hello Marlene,
Yes, the RestMan works for both lefties and right handed users. The requirements for attachment are
** desktops up to 4cm thick
** chair armrest up to 7cm wide and 5cm thick.
It takes under one minute to attach. Let me know if you have any other questions. I think this is a great option for an armrest and mouse pad for a computer class. It provides excellent support for elbows, shoulders and wrists.
    Thanks for asking.

How heavy is the Restman Stephanie? I think it looks like a good idea and am toying with the idea of actually doing some Christmas shopping.

    Hi Margaret,
The Restman is about 3 pounds. Very lightweight and easy to handle.
I think it would make a really great Christmas gift. Check back soon as we are in the process of a blog update.

Hello, I researched a little bit more on your Restman and I see there is a Restman II. Do you carry that? Could you please tell me if this is an improved Restman or does it serve another purpose. Thank you and I enjoy reading your blog. Rick Trank

    HI Rick,
The Restman I attaches both the the desk and to the chair arm. It has added room for a mouse. The Restman2 is more of an arm support that attaches to the desk only. Your mouse would still be on the desk. The Restman2 can also be rotated out of the way. I think they are both really great products. At this time we carry the original Restman.
I hope this answered your question.

Wow, the Restman is a great product. Perfect for those long hours typing away, and I agree that my arms start to get soar after mousing and typing all day. Thanks for this valuable post and looking forward to reading more about interesting ergonomic products in the future.

Hi Alec. Yes indeed the Restman is simple to set up and really saves the shoulder and arms. I think everyone should have one don’t you? :) It makes a very reasonable holiday gift. Thanks for blogging with us.

I have had something like this for some years. I’m 76 years old and my last one is about worn out. I can’t find anything like it in my search. This looks about like what I am used to. Can you tell me where I can find or order one from?

Hi Jody. Well, you are in luck. You can order one of these from theergonomicstore.com.
It is under forearm support. I think I am going to talk to our webmaster and see if we can give it it’s own category.
I really like the product too. You can also call us on the telephone @ 760-632-8350 and we can take an order for one right then. Talk with you soon.

The reason why this works is that it brings your arm closer to a neutral position with the elbow underneath the shoulder rather than stretched out. Holding your arm stretched out all day is the main culprit for the pain. I’ve also found that using vertical mice like the Evoluent causes a fundamental shift in the way you position your arm that reduces a lot of the pain.

That is a really good explanation Brian. Thanks for taking the time to stop in and put it in simple terms. Stretching the arm out all day sure does put a lot of strain on ones shoulder. I have never used a vertical mouse but would like to give one a go. Again, thanks for stopping in and hope to see some more of your comments in the near future.
