The skinny on Big and Tall Office Chairs

Sitting in a chair is hard on the body. Nature did not intend for the human body to be in one position for hours at time. When you are at your desk it is so important that your chair fit you. Big and Tall chairs are designed to accommodate larger people. They are proportioned differently, have reinforced seat pans and stronger frames than regular office chairs. If you are over 6′1″ and/or weigh over 250 it would be a good idea to try and find a big and tall chair for yourself. At the end of the day, however long it may be, your muscles will thank you. Anyone have any favorite Big and Tall chairs they would like to share with some future users?

I am not a big guy but my wife is pretty big. She is 5′11″ and weighs around 200 lbs. We are looking for a new chair for her because she is at the desk, sitting in my chair an awful lot these days. She is breaking down my chair. Is it your opinion that she would benefil from a Big and tall chair. Where have you been? MD

    Hi there Matt,
I guess you are saying that you and your wife both want your own chairs? I don’t really think you wife needs and Big and Tall chair. I guess the best thing to do would for her to go and try a couple of ergonomic chairs out before you decide to buy a big and tall. How old is your office chair? Some of the chairs that you buy at an office supply store are not meant to last forever so maybe you need one new quality chair that the both of you can enjoy. I hope this helps you in your quest for comfort in your office.

Ha ha. What a laugh riot. The skinny on Big and Tall Chairs. I dnot know how i came across your blog but did not realize there was a web store too until my hubby checked it out. I would like to be able to try out the chair before I purchase one. Are they hard to return if they do not work out good?
    GT

    Hello GT,
Thanks for stopping by the blog. What exactly is a laugh riot? I am wondering if you were looking for big and tall chairs and you came across the blog? I know, it is nice to try out a chair. If you tell me which chair you think you are interested in, there is a chance that a store nearby you might have something for you to try out. The chairs at the Ergonomic Store are really good chairs that will last a long time. There is a fitting guide http://www.theergonomicstore.com/content/Chair-Fitting-Guide.pdf you can fill out and we can determine which chair or chairs would be best for you. Think about it and thanks for stopping by.
